Maintaining its close alliance with any and all prosecutors — federal, state and local — willing to hector former President Trump and anyone he’s ever associated with, the Washington Post today offered a front-page story based on leaks from New York prosecutors and designed to pressure a trusted Trump employee into “rolling” on his boss, much as Roger Stone had been pressured with a pre-dawn raid live on CNN. Corporate Bamboozlers Feign Wokeism to Hide Their Sins
The Wall Street Journal’s “Weekend Interview” spoke to corporate America’s phony embrace of wokeism as a means to divert attention away from its more serious sins. And as an ad for Oreos and Chips Ahoy! in the same weekend newspapers illustrates, these big-business fraudsters are getting plenty of help from athletes and celebrities. Read more…
Bianca Jagger, NPR ‘Can’t Get No Satisfaction’ With Dictators
NPR’s “Morning Edition” co-host Noel King today interviewed celebrity human-rights activist Bianca Jagger, bemoaning the brutal suppression of democracy activists in her native Nicaragua by that country’s unabashed communist ruler, Daniel Ortega. Ms. Jagger and her fellow leftists at NPR would have listeners believe that this ruthlessly murderous behavior somehow comes as a surprise. Read more…
Visiting Chicago Is as Risky as Visiting North Korea
According to the Washington Post, a University of Maryland graduate student had recently published research purporting to show a connection between race and terms of probation for criminals. Thus there is sad irony in the fact that this scholar-advocate for criminals of color was senselessly murdered this weekend in Chicago, a city now overrun by criminals of color. Read more…
‘Suspicion’ of Scientists Stems from Their Politics, Not Their Imperfections
Though the dam has now broken with progressive comedians Jon Stewart and Bill Maher joking about the political left’s earlier, Baghdad Bob-like denials of the obvious – namely that murderous, lying, thieving China may have incompetently or by design loosed an engineered Covid-19 virus on the world – the Washington Post today dedicated thousands of words, beginning on its front page, that still try to obfuscate the fact that much of the “scientific” consensus about the pandemic’s origin was never much more than an anti-Trump consensus. FBI Critics’ Pretense Provides Cover for Stalinist Suppression
The Washington Post published an op-ed by two leftist law professors pretending to criticize the FBI for not doing enough to prevent the Jan. 6 siege of the U.S. Capitol. This pretense is intended as cover for the Stalinist left’s current plans to co-opt federal law enforcement in the suppression of center- and right-leaning political opposition, much as J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI conspired against the political left of the 1960s and 1970s. Read more…
Saudis Rationally Protected Their Citizens from a Political Show Trial
With several thousand words beginning on today’s front page, the Washington Post tries desperately to paint as controversial a rather fundamental, perfectly rational decision by Saudi diplomats to help two Saudi citizens flee a politically motivated prosecution in Greenville, N.C. Pandering to America’s race-fevered media and overruling police investigators’ initial conclusion that the Saudis acted in self-defense when they were physically attacked by a 22-year-old black man, the D.A. whipped a grand jury into two first-degree murder indictments. Criminologist Seems Too Sanguine about Crime
As self-described “progressive” lawmakers and prosecutors work to castrate police and violent crime rates continue to rise in most large American cities, the Wall Street Journal and the Manhattan Institute have been two reliable voices of reason raised against this madness. Yet a column today by an MI scholar incongruously suggests that perhaps we needn’t be all that worried about crime after all. Read more…
How ‘Woe Is Me’ Identity Politics Helped Make a Teenage Murderer
When a fatherless 15-year-old girl was sentenced to no more than six years in juvenile confinement for the recent D.C. carjacking and murder of a 66-year-old delivery driver, she effectively claimed victimhood herself when briefly apologizng to the real victim’s family. If she’s learned nothing else in her short life, our leftist schools, activists, politicians and media have certainly taught her how to duck responsibility. Read more…
Cosmic Justice in China-Loving LeBron’s Early Bounce from Playoffs
In light of hypocrite LeBron James’ criticisms of the country that made him a billionaire and his money-grubbing embrace of a totalitarian regime that murders and disappears its political opponents without a second thought, humanitarians and small “d” democrats are happy to see his team eliminated early from this season’s NBA Playoffs.
