As special counsel John Durham’s ongoing investigation and indictments begin to make abundantly clear, much of the media pack behaved as dutiful partisans when gullibly or complicitly helping Hillary Clinton, crooked FBI leadership, Bob Mueller’s slimy hatchet man Andrew Weissmann, and congressional Democrats like “Lying” Adam Schiff and Eric “National Security Risk” Swalwell to perpetrate the Trump-Russia collusion hoax on America and the world for roughly three years. Two Post reporters recently acknowledged as much.
Thus it’s hard to believe other Post editors and reporters have learned nothing about the perils of such partisanship and are again shamelessly pressing their propagandist thumbs on the scale for their preferred political party.
But both the subheadline and text of a front-page story today, “A sprint toward vote on spending bill,” repeatedly – and fraudulently – claim the House Democrats’ gargantuan tax-and-spend reconciliation legislation will cost “$1.75 trillion” when every sober adult in Washington knows it’s full of budget gimmicks and will cost at least twice that much.
As the Wall Street Journal and other responsible news outlets have reported, the hardly conservative Wharton School has scored the bill’s cost closer to $4 trillion, and that arguably low-ball estimate excludes assumed extensions of various green energy provisions.
So if the Post were to be truthful with its readers and pose appropriately skeptical and challenging questions to all newsmakers regardless of party, it would honestly be reporting that fractured House Democrats are at one another’s throats as they reel from recent off-year election losses and give sausage-making a bad name.
Post reporters Tony Romm, Marianna Sotomayor and Mike DeBonis should not be helping Nancy Pelosi, James Clyburn and Steny Hoyer tell desperate lies about a bill that would cost many trillions of dollars if it were ever to become law.
Thankfully, the legislation has little chance of becoming law since Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Krysten Sinema (D-AZ) — unlike many in our unchastened media — will not aid and abet their party leaders’ fraud.
